Like you, we enjoy having fun, just a little more fun while not at work providing the best BizTech Services on this side of the Mississippi!
I reside in Olathe, KS, right across from Stone Pillar Winery.
For about 25 years, I coached my children in various sports, yet none chose to continue in college; they had grander dreams. Ultimately, we act for our God, country, and corps, which includes our friends and family.
Born in Salina, KS, I worked various jobs as a youngster once I appreciated having money. I started with lawn mowing at 7, then tried my hand at siding, roofing, dishwashing, line cooking, working at Pizza Hut, and concrete construction with my dad.
After graduating high school in 1993, I enlisted in the Marines under an open contract, meaning I could be assigned anywhere. Fortunately, my ASVAB scores were high enough to place me in the Computer Field. Despite disliking computers, dropping out of a Computer Basics class in high school, and still not being able to type with all my fingers, I'm the quickest six-fingered typist you will ever see!
My Marine Corps tenure included:
- Boot camp in San Diego, earning me the title of a Hollywood Marine.
- Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, CA.
- A stint guarding the Armory for 45 days while awaiting my school seat.
- Attendance at the 4034 school in Quantico, VA, training as a Mainframe Operator—yes, that dates me!
- A year stationed at Camp Kinser in Okinawa, Japan.
- A return to Quantico, VA, for the 4066 School - Systems, just as the internet was emerging.
“Leadership is intangible, hard to measure, and difficult to describe. It's quality would seem to stem from many factors. But certainly they must include a measure of inherent ability to control and direct, self-confidence based on expert knowledge, initiative, loyalty, pride and sense of responsibility. Inherent ability cannot be instilled, but that which is latent or dormant can be developed. Other ingredients can be acquired. They are not easily learned. But leaders can be and are made.”
General C. B. Cates, 19th Commandant of the Marine Corps
Many Marines acquire more leadership experience during a single tour of duty than most civilians do in their entire lives.
For a minimum of four years, we engaged in Leadership Training, mastering how to be exemplary teammates and contribute significantly to the One Team philosophy.

Here is to you Leathernecks and Jarheads!
Marines are the first to fight and determined to succeed. Since 1775, Marines have valiantly fought and died to protect our nation and advance its ideals. Our long and proud heritage of faithful service is fueled by an uncommon fighting spirit and the grit to continue on when others quit. From Belleau Wood to Afghanistan, the United States Marine Corps is America's stand-in force - always ready when our nation is least ready.
During the Battle of Chosin Reservoir in 1950, General Chesty Puller famously said, “We’ve been looking for the enemy for some time now. We’ve finally found him. We’re surrounded. That simplifies things.” Despite being surrounded by the enemy and facing desperate conditions, Puller maintained his resolve.
